Draft #1 for illustration class -
Assignment: Create three political posters on Photoshop or Illustrator - one appeals to the intellect, one to the emotions, and one to a combination of both, then pick one of the three and polish it into a poster. This is the first - the intellect one (see the fancy stats?).

Suggestions and critique are welcome.

I agree! We don't need animal experiments! Not in this day and age, definitely!

Never underestimate... the Leadboot!!

I agree. Stop cruelty to animals. It's immoral.

I really like the design and the statements! For aesthetic purposes, though, I would change the text at the bottom somehow. It looks crammed together..

I've recently done a persuasive paper against exactly this sort of thing. Pain without relief; it's just sick how we treat our fellow creatures. We're so single-minded when it comes to reaching a scientific goal, that we never put ourselves in the animal's shoes (paws actually, although they've probably created an experiment where the animals are required to wear shoes).

This is really nice though. The yellow/black contrast makes the letters easy to read. The statement at the bottom pretty much sums up the whole subject. I hope you got a good grade on this.
And yes, the stats are pretty fancy and unfortunately true.

The lil mouse is cute btw, despite the fact that he's bleeding :)

You mind if I fave this?

great message, but i wouldn't ever stretch text out of proportion like that. there are bold condensed fonts out there that give the same effect without looking stretched. also, the hyphens bug me. maybe for better hierarchy, you could make key words/figures bigger and then the remaining smaller? (but i'm also a type nazi, so i'm sorry if that came off as mean.)

past that, great color choice. it's eye-catching without having to be crazy bright. i like the vector silhouette mouse as well. simple yet effective illustration! it'd be cool if the rat wasn't facing opposite of the text though.

Well, thank you very much - after a good look at it, I do agree about the stretchy text (someone else mentioned it too. I'll get on that soonish). Nice idea about the key words - I'll test that (and some of the other ideas) out, see how it turns out. (And no worries, type nazis are always welcome at my projects)

Anyway, that was HUGELY appreciated! I wish more people would critique on this site...

Thanks for the complements, too!

Thank you for the complements and the suggestion! :) (And the stretchy text will be fixed soon enough, no worries)
